HAPPY 18TH BIRTHDAY, ALBERT TRENT HU!
I don’t really know why I chose this picture, but I guess it’s because it pretty much sums up our relationship 90% of the time (and we literally have no decent photos together). You’re finally legal today, and I’m so grateful that I’ve had the chance to get to know you so well these past few years. Although we seem to click over a million things, we disagree over just as many…which makes this question still very, very relevant. WHY ARE WE FRIENDS?!
But since today’s your day, I won’t begin to argue my case. Instead, I just wanted to give a shout out to my best on his special day and thank him for:
- amazing, stupid, laugh-out-loud-funny conversations - in person, online, over webcam!
- spending 30+ hours at the library/Panera with me during the height of college app season
- putting up with my derpiness (I think it gets worse with age) and for generally accepting mentioned derps with a sigh and nothing else
- for answering that one question during that one interview in that way :)

- agreeing to disagree with me (one day we’re going to clash and it’ll be the end I swear)
- being my reassuring rock, and not being afraid to be completely honest with me - reality checks aren’t fun, but they’re alright when they’re coming from you
- helping me through the silly heartaches and heartbreaks that HS has presented thus far
- educating me on the art of cla$$y food (& more importantly, meat ) identification, classification, and recognition, and for spamming me with food links whenever I’m starving
- filling up half of my iTunes library with some dang good beats
- sharing his dreams, aspirations, and goals with me (and allowing me to unload on him all the time!)
- letting me crash his house and steal his internet during unexpected wind storms
- his snarky, sarcastic humor, much of which has rubbed off on me significantly
- simply being pretty awesome
Well, hopefully that wasn’t too much of an ego boost (who am I kidding) but I guess you can read this whenever you’re feeling lonely or insignificant LOL. Try not to fall asleep during your finals tomorrow, and make sure to enjoy your 18th! Happy birthday, I hate you lots ♥
